seeking autumn

“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth
seeking the successive autumns.”

Books We Are Reading
september

The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.

wfmw- holiday scented laundry
This is a repeat of a WFMW I did last year, but it’s one of my favorites & I want to share it again.
Last week I shared how I scent my home for the holidays, so this week I thought I would take it a step further – the laundry! I’ve been a loyal Downy user for 15 years, so last summer when I received a free sample of Snuggle Wild Orchid & Vanilla Kiss I just stuck it up on the shelf. One day last October I ran out of Downy so I tossed in the Snuggle sample. I could not believe how yummy the laundry smelled as I took it out of the dryer – it smelled just like Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar products!! We had our first cool spell this week so I ran to the store yesterday to get my Snuggle
) (Don’t worry Downy, I’ll go back to you in January, I promise!)
Run on over to Rocks In My Dryer for tons of great tips.
P.S. I need some help, dear internet friends! My son wants to be a marshmallow for Halloween. Not a bag of marshmallows, or a s’more, but a MARSHMALLOW!! Do you have any creative ideas on how I should make it?

happy fall y’all

Happy First Day of Fall!
This is my favorite time of year – beautiful colors, pumpkin spice candles, leaves scattering in the breeze. I always feel so refreshed & renewed in the Fall. I’m going to start this Autumn renewal with a little bloggy break. Our church is spending this week in prayer & fasting – I can’t do a food fast right now, so I’m doing a blog fast instead. I won’t be posting here, or reading my bloglines, for the rest of the week. I must confess that this is a difficult thing for me- I hate to miss out on what’s going on. Precisely the reason I need to give it up!
Is there anything I can be praying for you this week? Send me an email & let me know. toombstown AT gmail DOT com
Here are some neat things going on this week in Bloggyworld. I will be joining in the fun this weekend. Have a great week!

pumpkin lapbook links
Little Laplinks is a list of free resources that would be good for making an early elementary lapbook. There will be a different theme each month – this month is Pumpkins. Head on over to Little Blots for more pumpkin links.
